Spice just hits you like a truck,it just knocks you out. Whereas bud you just sit and chill. You know what? I wish I could go back to my bud. Because you know what,Spice, it’s horrible. I woke up after the Spice, with vomit all over my bed, and myself. I know a kid who died of it. Couldn’t get his heart beating more.
It was beating too fast,it just went and shook out. As the new government beganmaking moves to ban all legal highs, we headed to Manchester, where synthetic drugs like Spice, and other brands like Vertex,Pandora, and Insane Joker, are freely available to buy from newsagents and places known as head shops. Although manufacturers state onthe packets that they’re not fit for human consumption, legal highs are used recreationally. And they make the press whenstudents overdose on them.
Most people thought it wasa recreational drug, a party drug, something that you could, perhaps, dip in and out of. But actually, nobody really knowswhat they’re made of part and what structure they have andhow they impact on the body. Although students with a supportnetwork tend to dip in and out of synthetic drugs. We wanted to meet a much morevulnerable group of people who can suffer from the affects ofa real dependency on legal highs.
All the clients thatare presenting here are using spice. It’s affecting the mental health,it’s affecting the physical health, and it’s a massive, massive problem. Manchester has more rough sleepersthen anywhere else outside of London. Cuts to council services have left the city with 20% fewer emergencybeds than there were five years ago. And during that time, legal highs have become a crutch to manyof the people who now live on the streets.
I use it myself, and I use it because it takes the pain away. It’s legal. What can I do? I can sit here now, there could be 20 officers aroundme with guns and everything. As long as pull a bag of spice out andstart rolling it, I can roll it. Nothing that anybody can do.
I pull a bag of weed out andthey’ll all be on me like a car bonnet. How might people go about trying toget hold of it once you can’t go to a shop and buy it? There’s always gonnabe some match level drug. There’s already street dealers out there. Are you worried though that itmight start criminalizing people? Yes, yes I’ve seen some bad youhave got to look at this drug, it’s bringing heroine addicts, I know aheroine addict that’s a Spice addict now.
How to Burn Resins and Herbs as Incense Hoodoo How To with Madame Pamita
Hi I’m Madame Pamita and this is MadamePamita’s Parlour of Wonders. You can find me online by going toparlourofwonders . So, I’m going to show you right now how to burn herbs andresins as incense. This is not burning incense but it’s creating your own incenseby using a charcoal briquette that is specially made for burning incense. Whatyou need is a dish to burn incense in. I’ve got this dish that’s a cast iron dishso that one is perfect for this, won’t crack. You need the charcoal, you need theherbs and resins, you need matches, of course, and a suggested thing to useis some kind of tongs to hold that
charcoal as you light it. So, the veryfirst step is to light the charcoal. Now, as you’re burning this incense it’s going totake a while for this charcoal briquette to light so you want to plan ahead andstart the process about half an hour before you’re really ready to burn thatincense. Place that charcoal briquette within the tongs. And then I’m going tolight a match to get it going. These little briquettes that are madeespecially for burning incense, burning resins and burning herbs, are selflighting. Meaning, they have a little bit of. I think it’s gunpowder, that starts that process.
Maybe it’s saltpeter. Somethingthat starts that process of burning. But the tongs are helpful becauseit lets you get on all sides of it so that you’re not just lighting it oneside and waiting for it to light all the way to the other end.So you want to really get it going, do as much as you can. You might want touse more than one match to keep it going. Make sure we really got it all started onall areas. I think we’ve seen it go. I’m going to set that down and now we’regoing to wait about half an hour for that to get going. Then I’ll show how to putthe herbs and resins on top of that
briquette. Okay, so once you’ve waitedthat fifteen, twenty, thirty minutes, whatever it takes for your charcoal toturn white completely, you’re ready now to put on your herbs and your resins to makereal authentic incense. So here, I’m putting a little mixture, a blend of someresins and some herbs with an intention. I make these blends, custom mixtures foryou to effect what change, what it is that you want to bring into your life. You seethat trail of smoke now going up into the air. And you’ve now done incensewithout having incense. It’s resins and herbs ona small charcoal briquette.
